Overview:
Sea TALON® is a state-of-the-art networked system-of-systems designed to detect, classify and track surface and subsurface threats with unmanned systems, allowing engagement without high risk to personnel or combatants.

Sea TALON® was selected as a FY05 Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration (ACTD) by OSD, and is scheduled to transition to the first Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) ASW Mission Package.


Capabilities:
Provides persistent passive and active surveillance and detection of encroaching submarines or surface vessels in the surveillance area.

Integrates a specially designed system of acoustic sensors towed by state-of-the-art unmanned vehicles capable of high endurance and payload capacity. Features advanced communications techniques ensuring continuous battlespace coverage.

  • RMS
  • Low Frequency Variable Depth Sonar (LFVDS)
  • Multi-Function Towed Array (MFTA)
  • Airborne communications relay
Provides continuous sensor information to shipboard or airborne command centers

Acoustic sources designed to maximize detection of quiet diesel submarines in the shallow water littoral environment
